Line Clearance Position:
Mountain Electric Cooperative is seeking a dependable individual to fill a full time line clearance position at the Newland office. Primary duties include clearing and trimming electric power line right-of-ways. Requirements are, but not limited to climbing, use of chain saws and other mechanical equipment. This is an entry level position that will prepare the individual for an apprentice lineman position in the future. An apprentice lineman program will also be offered to the employee while employed at the company. Wage rate is based on union wage and experience. As a minimum, the applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalent and must reside within the Newland district’s service area.
